HALL OF FAME MATCH

The Hall of Fame match is a fantastic idea for showcasing the high level of talent currently dominating the AFL. It was great to watch Jonathan Brown play for Victoria, greats like Matthew Richardson playing for the Dream Team.
An exhibition match like this should be played yearly, as it is a great honour for those involved and invokes unitiy amongst the fans. The game was ultimately regarded as a 'friendly', and although it did spark up in the stands and for a moment on the field, it did embrace the spirit of the AFL.
This match highlighted the dominance of full forwards in the modern game, as the match seemed to lack a defensive touch. It was like ground work, as the ball was sent up and down the field in what resulted in a shoot out.
I enjoyed seeing the coaches also unite, as they embarked on new game plans and put aside their bias in order to put on a fantastic display, and a fitting tribute to the Hall of Fame.
I can only hope that next year some Essendon players are chosen!
